1Your first day
Three one-time steps, then the five steps you'll use every day. About ten minutes.
This manual is in the app: tap Settings, then Technician Manual. Before you've signed in, it's How RD Stock works under the sign-in box. Once RD Stock is on your phone, the manual opens with no signal too.
-
Put RD Stock on your phone.
iPhone: open
stock.rde.contactin Safari, tap Share (on newer iPhones, tap ⋯ first), then Add to Home Screen. Android: open it in Chrome, tap ⋮, then Add to Home screen (or Install app).- Always open RD Stock from that icon. On an iPhone, Safari keeps a separate sign-in and a separate pull list.
-
Sign in.
Open RD Stock from the icon. Type your cell number and tap Text Me a Code. A text comes from (208) 413-2413 with a 6-digit code. Type it and tap Sign In.
- Your keyboard usually offers the code just above the keys. Tap it there instead of switching to Messages.
- No text? Check the number shown above the code box. If it's wrong, tap Use a Different Number and fix it.
- A code works for 10 minutes, and only the newest one works. You get 3 texts in 15 minutes, and Resend Code counts.
- If it says
This number isn't set up for RD Stock. Ask Kyle or Jack.
, your cell in JobTread is missing or different. Ask Kyle or Jack. Don't keep trying, or you'll use up your 3 texts. - You stay signed in for 90 days after the last time you use the app.
-
Connect JobTread.
On RD Stock's home screen, above Scan a Label, tap Connect JobTread. Approve it on JobTread's screen with your JobTread login. Back in RD Stock you'll see
Connected. Parts you pull now go on job budgets under your own name.
in a red box for a few seconds. The red is normal there.- Why: the lines then go on the budget from your own JobTread login. If you skip it, the app adds the lines for you, still with your name in each one.
- Finish within 10 minutes of tapping it. If JobTread is signed in as someone else on that phone, sign out of JobTread first.
- If you land on a page that only says
Please sign in.
, close it, open RD Stock from the icon and try again. Still not connected? Tell Kyle. Your pulls work either way. - Not Now hides the card for a week. You can connect any time from Settings.
-
Learn the five steps.
Every pull goes the same way (details in 5. Pulling parts):
- Scan the sticker, or search.
- Type how many and tap Add to Pull List.
- Tap the Pull List: … · Review bar at the bottom.
- Tap Pick a Job, then tap the job.
- Tap Put on Job. The button shows the job number, like Put on Job 26-702.
One tap, once: parts you pull will show on the job's budget under your own name instead of the app's.
A plug-in barcode scanner types straight into this box too.
- 1Shows until you connect JobTread.
- 2Scan a Label opens the camera.
- 3The search box. Type a name, size, label number or shelf.
- 4My Pulls lists your pulls. The red count is No Job Yet pulls still waiting for a job.
- 5Settings: your JobTread connection, screen colors, Sign Out.
- 6The pull list bar. It sits at the bottom of the screen once something is on your list. Tap it to finish the pull.
2Shop rules
Pull everything you take.
Every part that leaves the stockroom goes on a pull, even a handful of wire nuts. That's how the job gets charged and how the shelf count stays right.
Can't find a part in RD Stock at all? Don't skip it, and don't pull a look-alike. Tell the office what you took, how many, and for which job. Tools and equipment aren't in RD Stock, so don't pull those.
No job yet? Put it on a job within 3 days.
Use No Job Yet only when you don't know the job. Within 3 days, open My Pulls and put the pull on its job. The office sees pulls that run late.
Return leftovers in the app.
Parts that come back go back in their bin and get a Return in My Pulls. That takes them off the job's budget and puts them back in the count.
Do it soon: My Pulls only shows the last 30 days, and a line that's on a bill can't be returned. Leftovers from someone else's pull? Ask them to tap Return. Parts from an older pull, or that didn't come from the stockroom? Tell the office before you shelve them.
3Finding parts
Scan the sticker
Every part has a label number like SMGL5T0764 on its sticker. Tap Scan a Label and point the camera at the sticker. The camera closes as soon as it reads it, and the part opens. The stickers already on the shelves (barcode or Sortly QR) and new RD Stock stickers (drawn here) all work.
- The first time, allow the camera. On an iPhone the first scan shows
Loading the barcode reader…
for a moment. - The camera takes the first barcode it sees. On a box with several barcodes, cover the others.
- Dark shelf: tap Light On if it's there. Most Android phones have it; iPhones usually don't.
- Cancel closes the camera.
Makers' barcodes
The barcode printed on a part or its box (the UPC) opens the part once the office has added it. If you see Barcode … isn't on any item yet.
, search by name instead and tell the office which part it was, so they can add it. A box barcode still opens just the part: you type how many.
Search by typing
Type in the search box. Results show as you type. Every word has to match, and capitals don't matter.
| Type | You get |
|---|---|
12/2, 12-2 or 12 2 | 12/2 cable, however it's written |
1/2 emt | 1/2" EMT first, then 1-1/2" and 2-1/2" |
1 1/2 pvc | 1-1/2" PVC |
#8 thhn | 8 gauge THHN first |
20a or 20 amp | 20 amp parts |
romex, db, sqd, gfi, greenfield | Shop names work. A built-in list matches words that mean the same part (romex = NM-B, db = UF, greenfield = flex), and the office adds to it. Romex also shows UF and direct burial, sometimes first, so check the name. |
0764 | Parts whose label or part # has 0764 in it. Tap the one whose label matches your sticker. |
D3 or D3 S2 | Everything on shelf unit D3, or just level S2 of it |
- You get up to 50 results, best match first. Don't see it? Add a size or another word.
- Short words match inside longer ones:
brfinds brass, breaker and brown. Add another word to narrow it. - Search looks at names, part numbers, label numbers, and the catalog part's name and description, so a part can show up for a word that isn't in its name. It doesn't look at bins or notes, so type a shelf on its own (
D3, notD3 thhn). - A full label number (
SMGL5T0764) or an exact part # opens the part straight away when you tap Search on the keyboard. Four digits alone aren't a full label number: if they're some other part's part #, Search opens that part. Tap the row instead.
Reading the results
- 1How many are in the stockroom. Red means the count is below zero. You can still pull it.
- 2The label number and the bin.
No bin yet
means the office hasn't given it a spot. - 3Nothing's wrong. The part goes on the budget at $0 and the office prices it.
Plug-in scanner
Using a plug-in (Bluetooth or USB) scanner? It types into the search box like a keyboard.
- Tap the search box before each scan. The scanner has to send Enter after the code, or nothing opens by itself.
- On new wire the cursor sits in the feet box. Type the feet and tap Add to Pull List before you scan the next part. If a scan lands in the feet box, RD Stock refuses it:
That's a scanned label, not an amount. Type how many feet, then scan the next part.
The box empties. Type the feet.
4The item screen
- 1Pull This Part. Type how many and add it to your pull list (see 5).
- 2The part: name, photo if there is one, Bin (where it lives), Part #, notes. A red
Needs a new label
tag means the part has no sticker of its own yet: it never had one, its old sticker was shared with another part, or the office just added it. Check the name matches the part in your hand, and tell the office. - 3On Hand: the stockroom count, plus any van that has some.
- 4Other Colors and Spools. Each color and each spool has its own label and its own count. Tap the one you're really taking.
- 5JobTread Catalog: the catalog part it goes on the budget as, with its price.
Not in the catalog…
means it goes on as a plain line that the office prices.
‹ Back always goes to the home screen.
5Pulling parts
-
Type how many.
Wire and anything counted in feet starts empty, so type the feet (half feet are fine). Everything else starts at 1 and takes whole numbers. Boxes, packs and rolls count in that unit (box, pk, rl): type 1 for one box. Go by the word next to the box, not the Unit on the JobTread Catalog card.
- Type just the number: no ft, no commas.
- 1,000 or more asks first, like
Pull 2,550 ft of 12 THHN Black STR? That's a lot. Tap OK if it's right.
Tap Cancel to fix the number.
-
Tap Add to Pull List.
You're back on the home screen with a note like
Added 25 ft of 12 THHN Black STR. Scan the next part, or tap the pull list at the bottom.
and the Pull List: 1 part · Review bar at the bottom. Scan the next part.- Need more of a part that's already on the list? Open it again. It says
On your pull list: 25 ft
, and the box shows 25. Tap the box (the 25 is selected), type the new total, and tap Update Pull List. The new number replaces the old one. - Nothing has left the shelf count yet. The list stays on your phone until you send it, even if you close the app.
- Need more of a part that's already on the list? Open it again. It says
-
Tap the Pull List: … · Review bar and check it.
To change an amount, tap its box and type the new number. The old one is selected, so typing replaces it. Remove takes a part off right away, with no undo. Clear empties the whole list (nothing has left the stockroom yet).
- A box outlined in red has no good amount: a scan went in, it's 0 or empty, or you tapped Cancel on the 1,000 question. Type the right amount. Until you do, the list won't send:
Fix the amount marked in red, then send.
The stockroom count says 0 each. That's OK; it'll be flagged for a count.
Pull it anyway. The count goes below zero and the office recounts it.
- A box outlined in red has no good amount: a scan went in, it's 0 or empty, or you tapped Cancel on the 1,000 question. Type the right amount. Until you do, the list won't send:
-
Tap Pick a Job, then tap the job.
Or tap No Job Yet if you don't know the job (see 6).
-
Tap Put on Job 26-702.
It takes a few seconds. While it works, the amounts and job buttons fade and the button reads
Send Again (saved on this phone)
. That's normal: wait. My Pulls opens with a green edge down the left side of your pull, and each part saysOn the budget
.- A pull holds up to 40 different parts. For more, tap Remove on some (note which), send, then scan those into a second pull.
- Tapping it twice can't make two pulls.
Goes on the budget as: #12 THHN WIRE STRANDED THHN12STR
The stockroom count says 1 each. That's OK; it'll be flagged for a count.
Goes on the budget as a plain line. The office sets the price. 2
- 1Change an amount here: tap the box and type. It's always in the part's own unit. A red outline means it needs a good amount.
- 2How the part will show on the budget: as its catalog part, or as a plain line the office prices.
- 3Pick the job.
- 4Don't know the job yet? See 6.
- 5Sends the pull. It's faded and does nothing until there's a part on the list and a job (or No Job Yet) is picked.
Picking the job
Your jobs are ones you have access to or are scheduled on. Search finds any open job.
- 1Your Jobs: open jobs JobTread gives you access to by name, or where you have a task from 3 days ago to a week out. The orange line says why. Up to 25 show here.
- 2Shop (26-00) is for parts used on the shop or on a vehicle itself, like a repair. It's not for stocking your van (see To My Van in 8).
- 3All Open Jobs shows the 30 newest jobs that aren't yours.
- Can't see the job? Search by number, name, address or tech. Search one thing at a time:
26-688orHillcrest, not both. - Being the job's Tech (the name in the grey line) doesn't make it one of Your Jobs.
- New jobs show up, and closed ones drop off, usually within a few minutes of the change in JobTread. Sometimes it waits for the hourly refresh at a quarter past.
- Job not there at all? Tap ‹ Back, tap No Job Yet, and put the pull on the job from My Pulls once it shows up.
- The Shop button hides while there's text in the search box. Clear the box to see it.
6No job yet
For when you're taking parts and don't know the job yet. The parts leave the stockroom count now; nothing goes on any budget until you pick the job.
-
On the Pull List, tap No Job Yet.
The list now says
The parts leave the stockroom now. Pick the job within 3 days from My Pulls.
-
Tap Pull With No Job.
My Pulls opens with the pull at the top, in red:
No job yet · 3 days left
, then 2, then 1, thenoverdue
. The My Pulls button on the home screen shows a red count like2 need a job
. -
When you know the job, open My Pulls and tap the Put on a Job button under the red heading. Tap the job.
Every part still out goes on that job, dated when you pulled it.
Two buttons say Put on a Job. The big one under the heading moves the whole pull. The small orange one on a single part moves only that part, as its own group on the budget dated now. Use the small one only when parts went to different jobs.
- A part that came back goes back with Return (see 8). To My Van is only for stocking your van.
- 3 days means 72 hours: pulled Monday at 4 PM, due Thursday at 4 PM. Nothing locks after that, but the office sees it as late.
7What lands in JobTread
Each pull becomes its own group inside the job's Stock Parts group, named with your name and the date. Each part is one line.
- Stock Parts
- Stock Parts - Josh James - 10/14/26
- #12 THHN WIRE STRANDED THHN12STR · 25 Linear FeetRD Stock · 12 THHN Black STR · Josh James · Oct 14, 2:15 PM · #1623

- Stock Parts - Josh James - 10/14/26
- If you connected JobTread, the lines go on from your own JobTread login. If you didn't, or JobTread won't take your connection, the app adds them with its own login. Your name is in each line and in the group name either way.
- The date (and the time, in each line) is when RD Stock got the pull. A pull that waited on your phone for signal shows the later one.
- On a job with phases (a new home's Temp Power, Rough In and Trim Out, or a commercial job's sections), your pull goes into a Stock Parts group at the top level of the budget, and the office moves it into the right phase. You don't need to do anything. Return and Move still work after it's moved.
8My Pulls: return, move, fix
Tap My Pulls on the home screen. No Job Yet pulls come first, then your pulls from the last 30 days, newest first.
- 1A No Job Yet pull. This button puts the whole pull on a job.
- 2A pull on a job. The green edge marks the pull you just sent or changed.
- 3What you can do with a part that's still out.
- 4A line JobTread didn't take. The reason is in red. Send Again tries now.
What the tags mean
| Tag | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| On the budget | The line is on the job in JobTread. Nothing to do. |
| Waiting to send | RD Stock has it, JobTread doesn't yet. It usually goes on its own within the hour. If it still says this the next day, tell the office. |
| Didn't reach JobTread | JobTread didn't take it; the reason is under it. Tap Send Again. If it still says this the next day, tell the office the job, the date and the part. Don't pull the parts again. |
| Out of the stockroom | A No Job Yet part, not on any budget. Put it on a job within 3 days. |
| Returned to stock | All of it came back. |
| Moved to another job, or Moved (job or van) | It went to another job or into a van. |
Return leftovers
Put the parts back in their bin. The bin is on the item screen.
In My Pulls, tap Return on that line.
-
The box starts with everything still out. If only some came back, change it to that number (just the number, like
30or1000; no ft, no commas). Tap OK.- The budget line shrinks to what's left, or disappears if it all came back. The stockroom count goes back up.
- There's no undo, so check the number before you tap OK.
Fix a mistake
- Typed too many? Tap Return and type the extra.
- Typed too few? Pull the rest onto the same job.
- Wrong part, color or size? Return all of it, then pull the right one.
- Wrong job? Tap Move to Another Job on the line and tap the right job. It comes off the first job's budget and goes on the new one as its own group, dated when you moved it and marked
(moved from 26-702)
. - Whole pull on the wrong job? Move each line. There's no way to move a whole pull at once.
- After a move, nothing has the green edge. The part shows as a new pull under the new job.
To My Van
Use To My Van only when you're stocking your van, not for parts going to a job. It's on No Job Yet parts, and it moves everything still out on that line into your van's count. That shows on the item's On Hand card under your van's name.
- To keep only some in the van, Return the rest first.
- You need a vehicle set up in RD Stock. If you don't have one, it says
You don't have a vehicle set up in RD Stock. Ask Kyle.
- With one vehicle it moves right away. With more than one, type the vehicle's number from the list.
- You can't take parts back out of a van in the app, and RD Stock can't put van parts on a job yet. Ask Kyle how to charge van parts until it can.
Good to know
- Fix RD Stock lines from My Pulls, not in JobTread. A change made in JobTread doesn't change the stockroom count, and your next Return or Move sets the line back to what RD Stock has (a line deleted in JobTread comes back with what's still out).
- Tapping a job acts right away. There's no "are you sure".
- After a tap, that pull's buttons fade for a few seconds until the list reloads. A second tap does nothing.
- Errors show in red at the bottom of that pull's card. Scroll down if nothing seems to happen.
- Once a line is on a bill or invoice in JobTread, Return and Move are refused:
That line is already on a bill or invoice in JobTread. Ask Kyle to change it there.
- My Pulls holds your last 40 pulls from the last 30 days. For anything older, ask the office. Give them the job, the date and the part (the app doesn't show pull numbers).
9No signal
With no signal, RD Stock can't look anything up: no scans, searches, items, jobs or My Pulls.
- If you open it with no signal, it shows
Your cell number
as if you were signed out. You're not. Don't ask for a code. Close the app and open it again once you have signal. (If it still asks for your number with good signal, sign in again.) - No-signal errors say
No connection. Check your signal and try again.
An iPhone may sayLoad failed
instead. Same thing.
A pull with no signal
If the app was already open when you lost signal, you can still send a pull. With the job already picked, tap Put on Job 26-702 anyway (or Pull With No Job). You can't pick a job with no signal. If you haven't picked one, tap No Job Yet and put the pull on its job from My Pulls later.
The pull waits on your phone: No signal. The pull is saved on this phone and sends when you have signal.
The home screen shows a red note until it goes.
- When you have signal again, it may send by itself. If the red note is still on the home screen, tap the Pull List: … · Review bar, then Send Again (saved on this phone). Closing the app and opening it again also sends it.
- Sending it twice never makes two pulls.
- Until it goes through, the list can't change: the amounts, Remove and the job buttons are faded, and adding parts or Clear is refused. Once it goes, fix anything in My Pulls.
- When it goes through, the app jumps to My Pulls.
- If RD Stock turns the pull down (a closed job, say), the home screen says
Your last pull didn't go through:
and why. Open the Pull List, fix it, and send it again. Those parts aren't recorded until it goes. Clear it (or Remove its last part) only if the parts went back on the shelf; the app asks first. - If RD Stock had a problem on its end, the Pull List says
RD Stock had a problem (…) and may already have this pull. Tap Send Again. It won't be saved twice.
Do that. The list stays as it is until it goes through.

| Technician Manual | This manual. It opens with no signal too. The button at its top prints it or saves it as a PDF. |
| Sign Out | Signs out this phone only, and clears your pull list (it asks first). A pull still waiting to send goes first. If it can't go yet, or RD Stock turned it down, Sign Out stops and says what to do. With no signal it says so, and you stay signed in. Each person's pull list is their own, so on a shared phone nothing goes out under the wrong name. |
If the home screen shows Reconnect JobTread, your JobTread connection ran out. Tap it and approve again. Your pulls still go on the budget in the meantime.
11Shelf codes
A bin like D3 · S2 reads letter, unit, level.
- Areas have names instead:
Wire · Romex,Wire · THHN Stranded · 12 THHN,Conduits · EMT,Back Wall. - All the colors of one wire size share a bin. Check the name or the label for the color.
- A few parts show only a letter, or a letter and unit (
B,A1). The office hasn't set the exact spot yet. Look along that side or unit. A shelf search won't list the letter-only ones, so search by name. - To see everything on a shelf, search just the shelf:
D3, orD3 S2. No bin yet
means the office hasn't given the part a spot. Ask them.
